G is for Girls Day

Good evening everyone!

I realized yesterday I made a mistake and posted my "F" post on Sunday.  Oops.  I forgot about no posts on Sunday.  So...I just skipped yesterday.  I will try to do better at remembering.

Today for the letter G, my topic is Girls Day.  Today was a girls day for me, Mama and Darbee Rae.
Back in October, I planned a special trip to American Girl for Darbee's birthday.  Mama ended up being really sick and wasn't able to go.  We were so sad.  Thankfully, Aunt Maudie was so sweet to go with us and celebrate Darbee's day.

We made a promise that as soon as Nana got well, we would plan another date to American Girl and we would have a girls day out.  That's what we did today.

Darbee worked last night getting her American Girl doll, Saige ready.

We headed out early.  We had lunch reservations for 1:00.  It took a little over an hour to get there.  We were a bit early but we had plans to go browse an antique store nearby.  I had been before and fell in love.  I knew I wanted to take Mama.  She LOVED it.  If you follow her blog, I am sure you will be able to read more about it soon.

We were so excited when lunch time came.

Everything is so "fancy" for the girls and dolls.  Look at our napkin rings.  They are also hair ties for the girls to keep. Neat huh?

Saige has her own high chair to sit right near Darbee Rae at our table.  It's so neat!

I think Darbee was a little excited don't you?  That face is priceless.

Saige even had her own glass of pink lemonade just like Darbee. (smile)
She looks happy too!

We all got an appetizer as part of our lunch.
Darbee chose Fancy Fruit Kabobs.  I love the strawberry yogurt in the little flower pot.
She got to keep the flower too.

Nana chose Barbecue Chicken Satay.
It smelled delicious!
She said it was super yummy too!

I chose parmesean fries. (Note my love of fries) Ha!
They were delicious too.

While we waited for our food, we had a box of questions we could ask.
These were a lot of fun!  Gave us lots to talk about.

For the main course, I chose a Cuban Panini.  Oh my was it good.
Notice more fries?  Hehe...

Darbee chose Macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders and more fruit.
Nana chose a hamburger.
Everything was delicious!

For dessert, we shared a fondue tray.
Look how cute!

We were stuffed but ready to do some shopping!
Saige had to have a new pair of glasses.

We did our shopping and browsed around the mall some too.

Is it a surprise that Darbee Rae was the only one who came out with packages?

Nana and Mommy weren't going to be left out though.

We made a stop at our favorite place on the way home...

Oh yea...We both brought out bags here. (smile)
And we brought home one tired little girl....(grin)

What a fun day!  I am so thankful for these two girls in my life.

Until next time...

  1. Oh my what fun! When you went and Angela didn't get to go, Deb and I knew she was REALLY sick. This is a trip we plan when Amelia gets a tad bigger. Beth and Amanda want both girls to go. Shhhh Amelia is getting Ruthie Smithers for her first birthday. Mollie of course got Molly and loves her. She also has the twins, Neeley and Knox. Can you believe those names?lol Darbee is blessed, but I think you and Angela are more blessed because you have the sweet little princess, who may be spoiled, but is so lovable. BTW I wouldn't give a nickle for a child not spoiled, would you? They deserve the love and attention we can give them. Love you all
