The Perfect Pumpkin

Good evening!  What a fall like weekend it has been here in Georgia.  I am even more excited because fall officially starts tomorrow!  Woohoo!  They are also predicting much cooler temps for us.  Even some 50's!  Bring it on.  This girl is ready.

To kick off fall Mama, Darbee and I headed to the North Georgia Mountains on Friday for a girls day trip.  We were on a mission to visit Burt's Pumpkin Patch.  Somewhere we had not been before.  I had read rave reviews on it and couldn't wait to check it out myself.  I brought my good camera along hoping to take some fall pictures of Darbee.  Nothing disappointed.  We had a GREAT time and the pumpkin patch was perfect.  A million pumpkins in any shape size and even color you could imagine.

Some of these larger ones were priced up to $100.  They were HUGE!

I had not ever seen blue pumpkins...have you?

We enjoyed apple cider and a slice of a delicious pumpkin roll.  It was such a fun time.

I will go ahead and warn you...you will probably have an overload of pictures!  I took a TON!

I just love this one.  It shows the true Darbee personality.
I think she was a little tired of pictures.  Haha...

After taking A LOT of pictures, we had to find the perfect pumpkin.
Ms. Darbee set out to find her the one she wanted.

She ended up finding one just the right size for her.
She was so happy to bring it home.

We even picked out some tiny ones to bring home too!

Thinking I would take a lot of pictures, we even took a change of clothes.
We found another perfect picture spot right at the pumpkin farm.  A covered bridge.
Darbee loved watching the fish swim below and had a blast feeding them.

She could see the fish below through the cracks.
So funny.

On the road back home, there was a field with acres and acres of sunflowers.  You could pay by the car and drive down to them and take all the pictures you wanted.
Of course we had to take that opportunity for another wonderful natural backdrop for some photos.
It was fun walking through the sunflowers.  They were so tall!

We had such a fun day and even topped it off with a stop at Ikea on the way home.  I love that place.

I hope you have had a great weekend.
Thanks for visiting and Happy Fall!

Until next time...

Let's Take a Little Trip

Good afternoon!  Are you having a good week so far?  It's been a busy one here.  I had lunch duty at Darbee's school today and then had to be back soon after for a first grade meeting.  We have another meeting tonight.  Whew!  Thank you all for your sweet well wishes for Darbee.  She is feeling MUCH better.

Being busy is ok and I love it most days but sometimes and wish we were on vacation.  This summer we took a trip to a different place.  Somewhere we had never been before.  We went to Boone, NC.  On the way there, we made a pit stop in Lincolnton, North Carolina at NanBrook Farm Primitives and Antiques.  Oh my.  When we turned down the road, I could just tell from the sign I was going to like it.

I was giddy like a kid.
I couldn't wait to get inside!

The scenery on the country road was so pretty!  Look at the view across the road.
It looked like a postcard.

The owner wasn't in while we were there but the nicest young man was working.  We told him where we were on the way to and he gave us lots of tips and ideas for our trip.  He was so kind to let me take some pictures for my blog too.
Just take a look at this shop.  I could have spent ALL day!
I felt like I was missing stuff.  There was so much to see!

Just look at all of that pewter!  Wow.

Do you see why I didn't want to leave?

I did leave with a bag full of goodies.

I would love to go back for fall and even more so for Christmas.  If you are ever in the area, it is well worth your time.  You will LOVE it!

Thanks for coming along!

Until next time....

Tiques and Treasures

Good morning!  I can surely tell there is a little tiny nip in the air and fall is on its way.  I am so ready.  I will be pulling down my fall decorations from the attic this weekend and hoping for cooler temps. I am running late.  I usually have everything done by now!

I have a sick little one this morning.  She complained of a sore throat yesterday morning but acted fine. She got a little worse in the afternoon and then the fever and vomiting hit.  We ended up at urgent care with a diagnosis of strep throat.  Poor thing.  She is NEVER sick and when she is she always seems super sick.  Hoping once we get more antibiotics in her today she will feel much better soon.

After our girls day last Friday, we continued the fun into the evening and headed to our local high school football game.  We love going to games and cheering on our Cougars. It was the first home game and Darbee was so excited to go.

Although they lost we had a great time together.

On Saturday, an antique store in a nearby town was hosting a 'Tiques and Treasures day.  Vintage trailers from all around gathered for a show.  There were a good many booths too!
We went and really enjoyed looking at the "glampers."  What fun these folks have fixing up these vintage trailers and showing them off.

Just look at the inside of quite a few of them.

It was really neat to see the different themes each one took on.
They were all completely different.

Darbee liked the sparkly seats inside this one.

Look at the walls of this one.  The lady that owned this one said she kept it set up in her back yard and would go out there for naps some days.  How neat!

This one had a shabby chic theme.

The last one we looked at was set up inside like a log cabin.

It had a more primitive decor also.  I loved it.  So cozy!

We enjoyed scouring the booths and finding a few treasures also!

What a fun day!
It made me want a trailer like those!

Until next time....
