Exploring new sights

Good morning everyone.  It's a dark dreary day here in the south.  Yuck.  It's quite cool outside too.
It has been a rather quiet week here and I am thankful for that.

This past weekend, we took a day trip down to West Point Lake to the big dam.  Darbee has been asking what a dam looked like so we decided to go and show her a real one.  I guess we could call it an educational fieldtrip. Ha!
There is a really nice park and walking paths.  We took a picnic lunch and enjoyed a fun afternoon.
Look at this huge dam.  Darbee was amazed.  You can walk up to it and watch the water pour in when they open the gates.  There was one gate open a little bit and the water was gushing in.  It was neat to see.

There is a small pond for kids to fish from.  Darbee enjoyed feeding the ducks and geese.

Afterward, we drove across the dam and thru the campgrounds.  It was a fun trip.

I am still busy working on our Disney trip.
We only have around 110 days until we go.  I know that sounds like a lot but I know how fast it will go by!  I still have so much to do. I have all of our dining reservations made.  I am buying up "prizes" for the road to keep Darbee occupied.  It is going to be so much fun.

I hope all of you are having a good week.
Talk again soon!

Until next time.....

  1. Oh I love water! Any water. I bet she was amazed. My daughter is going to Disney for the first time this year. Any suggestions for her? She has 3 children. Sounds like you are very organized!
