Three coins, a cup and a playdate....

I didn't get home till late last night so I didn't get to update you all on our Resurrection Eggs.

Day 2:  Three coins
Our Story:  We read about Judas and how he betrayed Jesus.  Remember, I am reading these stories to a 4 year old, so I must simplify the stories. :)  We talked about what it means to betray and how Judas decided not to love Jesus.  We also talked about how it was so important to love Jesus even if our friends laugh at us or think it's not "neat."

Day 3:  A Cup
Our Story:  Today, we read about the passover cup.  Darbee Rae has learned about communion at church already, so she knew what the "juice" represented.  We talked about the representation of the juice and the bread.

She is REALLY enjoying these and gets really excited to read our story each morning.

Her cross was finally dry, so Nana and Papa brought it to us this afternoon.
It looks so pretty with our stuff!  She did a great job painting it huh?
I need to write the date on it so she can keep it.

Today was a fun day!  We had a playdate with Bayleigh.  Darbee LOVES playing with Bayleigh and I enjoy visiting with Ms. Stephanie.
Where did we go?
MONKEY JOE'S!!!!

They slid down the slides.

Laughed and jumped,

Acted goofy,

Played together,

Shared snacks,

Got sticky toys,
and had a GREAT time.

Tonight, I have one tired little girl!
We've had a good day!
I hope you have too.

Until next time........

Dentist, Deals and a Story....

Good evening everyone!   We've had a busy several days so I feel like I'm playing catch up.  We were up early yesterday morning for a dentist appointment for Darbee Rae.  It was just a random cleaning, but we knew a filling had fallen out and wanted to get it seen about. She was VERY nervous, but was okay knowing she wasn't going to be drilled on.  Sure enough, the filling was gone.  Ugh...that means we must go back for a little drilling soon.  Oh-well.  She was a good sport.  She had her teeth cleaned and even got x-rays.  Her dentist is so good.  It's a pediatric dentist, so they cater to the little ones.  She gets to pick her color of the toothbrush, choose from several flavors of toothpaste and she even got two coins to put in the prize machine!!  Yahoo!
She took Cuddles along with her.
Don't you love her cool sunglasses?  She gets to watch a movie on the ceiling while they are cleaning her teeth! I want to go to her dentist!

All done! She did so good!
I was so proud of her.  She's much braver than her mommy.  I'm a chicken when it comes to a dentist!

I had promised her a prize when we left there.  We were going to the dollar store to get two prizes, but stopped by Goodwill first.  I have to share my awesome find with you.
We passed by a cart full of stuff waiting to be put out.  I gazed down in the bin and saw a green zippered case.  I pulled it out and saw LEAPSTER on the outside.  I was hoping it worked.  Guess what?  It did.  And guess what else?
It had EIGHT games with it!   How much you ask?  $9.99!
What a score!

Darbee Rae has been playing with it NON STOP.
Needless to say, we didn't need to go to the dollar store.  She found her prize right there!

Can you believe Easter is right around the corner?  I found a set of Resurrection Eggs at a consignment sale and knew we were going to enjoy them this year.

This morning, we opened our first egg. Darbee was so excited to see what they were all about.

I thought I would share each day with you all as we prepare for the Easter holiday.
It's a nice reminder of what our Savior did for us and what the holiday is all about.

Day One:  The blue egg.

What was inside?

A donkey.
We talked about when she had heard of a donkey in the bible.  She related a donkey to Mary and Joseph.  This morning, we learned a new lesson about a donkey.

"A lowly donkey was given to Jesus to ride into Jerusalem just before his death and resurrection."

Bible Verses:  Matthew 21:1-9.

We talked about Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey and how everyone wanted to see Jesus.  We also talked about how we were supposed to follow Jesus even when our friends say we shouldn't or might even laugh at us.

She is so excited to learn about Jesus and it warms my heart so much.  Her little mind is so absorbent.
I am so thankful to share this time with her and look forward to the next 11 days.

We even made a special spot on her little table to display it.  We have a grass square to display the eggs we pull out each day.  They carton is there along with her small story book.  What's missing?  Yup...a cross.  Darbee Rae informed me that we needed a small cross to go with it.  So...what do we do?  Call Papa!  Luckily we were spending the afternoon over there, so guess what?  We have a small cross made and painted.  Just waiting on it to dry.  :)  Papa is so helpful!

We had dance class tonight.  Whew...I'm a tired mama...
Goodnight folks.
Until next time.....

Spring photo shoot....

It has been a beautiful day her in the south.  The weather was perfect!  We went to church this morning and lunch with the family.  This afternoon, I couldn't sit inside.  I had to get out and enjoy the beautiful weather.  I decided to dress Darbee Rae up and head to a local park for a photo shoot.
I LOVE taking picutres.  I would LOVE to do this as a job.  It would be a dream come true.  When I found out I was pregnant with Darbee Rae, I bought a nice camera.  Since then, I have purchased several lenses and some accessories.  I am by no means a pro but it's a fun hobby that I enjoy. I haven't taken her to a portrait studio in several years.  I do them myself.  Saves lots of money!  Ha.
I was thrilled with how the pictures turned out today. I just had to share some of them with you.  I apologize ahead of time for the number of pictures.  From time to time, I will post lots of pictures of Darbee Rae but I have a reason.  Several times a year, I publish my blog into a blog book for a keepsake.  I have done several already and LOVE them.  I have them to look back on and remember.  So....forgive me for the large number of pictures....I want them in my book!  :)
Can you tell she is used to being in front of a camera?  Ha!

Can you tell she was tired of having her picture made?  Hehe...she's so silly!

Notice the camera in her hand?  Yup..she's picked up my love for cameras too! :)

Thanks for looking.

Catching Up....

Good evening!  We have had a very busy week and honestly, I haven't had much time to get on and blog!
Had a few minutes tonight so I thought I would catch up on the last few days.

Darbee Rae has been so excited about our Easter decorations this year.  She has wanted to help me with all of it.  She's so much fun.
She decorated this little prim tree all by herself!
She was so proud to help.

On Tuesday, we had a playdate with a friend from high school.  I am so glad we have kept in touch and now that we have kids, we enjoy getting together and letting them play.  Darbee and Bayleigh are so cute together and have so much fun.
As our afternoon was winding down and the girls were getting a bit tired, they decided to play on my Ipad.  They were so cute.

On Thursday, we were driving thru town running errands.  I pulled thru the bank and happened to look over in the grocery store parking lot and saw the Oscar Meyer Weinermobile!  We hurried over for Darbee to have a look.

You could look inside!

They were even handing out weiner whistles.  Darbee was so excited!

Thursday night, hubby had to unexpectedly go out of town, so Darbee Rae and I spent the evening at Nana and Papa's.  She was thrilled.  She has been wanting to "work" in Papa's shop and build something.  They did just that.

I thought these pictures were priceless.
She is wearing Papa's old shirt and working sooo hard.

Just look at her birdhouse.  She was so proud!

It has been a busy week.  Hopefully next week will be a little slower.
I am off to check in on all of you and try and catch up!
Hope you all are having a great weekend!
Until next time......
