The rest of the trip...

Good afternoon friends.  I am happy we made it home safely, but I have to admit, I would love to still be in the mountains.  We had such a GREAT trip.  We had so much fun just being together.  We shopped till we dropped, saw several shows, visited with a special friend and were just together.  It was perfect.
On the second day there, Darbee Rae, hubby and I left early to be at the Wonder Works museum shortly after it opened.  As long as Darbee Rae has been able to talk and see the place, she has wanted to go to "the upside down house."  She couldn't wait.
It was a lot of fun and well worth it.  Everything is hands on and really interesting.

Look at this place.  Wouldn't you want to check it out?

We rode an earthquake simulator that was a magnitude 6.0!
Darbee was a little scared, but liked it overall.  It wasn't too scary.

The Titantic exhibit was really neat.
The water was the same temperature as the water the boat was sailing in.
You had to time yourself and see how long you could stand it.
Wow!  That water was unreal.  I lasted just over 20 seconds.
Can you imagine how those people felt?

Darbee Rae tried rock climbing for the first time.
She wasn't scared a bit!
She did pretty good for her first try.

She tried out a space uniform!

One of our favorite exhibits was the bubble room.  Just look at the giant bubbles you could make!

That evening, we shopped in Gatlinburg.
We didn't find too much, but had fun looking.
Darbee Rae enjoyed shopping with her baby.

While in Gatlinburg, we at at Dick's Last Resort.  Oh my...what an experience.
If you've never been to one, you need to just one time.
They are know for their sarcasm and rudeness.  You must be able to take it and get rude right back.  It was a lot of fun.
Look at the crazy hats you wear.  They make them and put sarcastic sayings on them.  It was hilarious.

Even Darbee's baby doll had a hat.
It said, "I hide crack in my diaper."  Ha!
It was quite an experience.

On Friday, our day started early.  We headed to the town of Clinton.  You have read on Betty's blog,
about this neat town and the Speckled Hen.
On the way, mama called Ms. Betty to see if we could stop by and say hello.  Although she already had out of town company, she welcomed us into her home.  I am proud to say, I have officially been thru her back door.  Her home was beautiful and we had such a good visit.  I could have sat and talked for hours. She is such a special person.
Darbee Rae loves her and loves seeing things on her blog.
They had to have a picture together.

And here is us girls.
Such a great memory.

Friday night, we went to the Lumberjack Feud dinner show.
What fun it was.

It was amazing to see the strength of these men and women.
The show was so good.

As we were going in to sit down, one of the lumber jills stopped Darbee and asked her if she would like to help her during the show.  Darbee was thrilled to know she was going to get to go on stage.
She was so cute.

Here she is getting her instructions on what to do.

She had to "chop down" the ribbon tree.

She did so good and won a wooden "cookie."
She was able to take the cookie down on stage after the show and have it signed by all the lumber jacks and jills.

What a fun evening.

Saturday morning, we woke up to snow flurries!  Darbee was so excited.
It snowed off and on for most of the day.  Nothing was sticking though.
The mountains were white on top and it was beautiful.

We spent most of the day doing last minute shopping before heading home.

It was the best trip and I am so thankful my mom and dad were able to share it with us.

Until next time...

  12. I have got to see the lumberjack show! I had no idea there was such a thing. When I was younger I'd visit the grands in Colorado and watch the lumberjack competitions and had even planned to compete when I was old enough but never did. So I have got to see this show. I really enjoy seeing bloggers visit one another, it's so nice. And your daughter in the space suit reminds me of a Dr. Who episode, just love it! I've never been to a Dicks before so if I ever get the chance ill check it out.
