If These Walls Could Talk...

If these walls could talk,
What would they have to say?
Would they tell of the many sights they have seen?
Every night and day

The excited young man
as he walked thru the front door
a new homeowner
With a new beginning in store.

The friends that have came
thru the door many times
To visit, laugh and talk
And have a good time.

The shy little redhead
with a new ring on her finger
With ideas for a cozy home
On her mind they did linger.

The newlyweds smiling
as they walked thru the door
A new life ahead
so much better than before.

A happy little family
who has now become three.
A precious baby girl
To add to the family tree.

The joys of laughter
and the shedding of tears
Are just part of the things
these walls have seen thru the years.

They could tell many stories
If only they could talk
The changes they have seen
As thru this life we all walk.

These are the walls in my living room.  When I first stepped into this house nearly 10 years ago, I was scared.  Hubby had lived here for more than 15 years before I came along.  To say it was a batchelor's pad is a major understatement.  It was a shell of a house with a little furniture inside where hubby slept.  Ha!  He had done NOTHING to it since he moved in.  The paneling was dark.  The house lacked any color other than the green tile in the bathroom.  I knew if we ever got married, the house had to have a major woman's touch.  That it did.  Thanks to my daddy and hubby, the walls ALL were painted and the house was well on its way to becoming a cozy home.  The living room wall color was a yellow.  I loved it.  I used reds, yellow, gold, greens and browns.  That was 8 years ago.  Now, it's time for a change.  Today, the work began on changing that.  I have to admit, it was a little bittersweet. As we moved all of the furniture last night, it dawned on me how much these walls have witnessed.  Wow....if only they could talk.
Right now, my house is turned upside down.

Yes...it's a mess.  Stuff is stacked everywhere and furniture is in every room out of place.
Tomorrow, I hope I can share with you the newly painted walls as the painter assures they will be done!  I can't wait to get everything back in place and start redecorating.  I will be sure to post the progress.

I must take time to say welcome to all of you.  I am more than overwhelmed by the amazing response from all of you.  I am so excited about this new adventure in blogging and for having the opportunity to get to know all of you wonderful people.  Please check back often.  I promise I will stop by all of your blogs very soon.
Take care...
Until next time...

  3. Goodness, I'm excited when anybody gets to redo a room. I can't wait to check out your 'style'. See how it jives with mine. I'm old fashioned and antiques with lots of prims and some country, but all the necessary modern. If that makes any sense! I guess I am just comfy. I am a maniacal collector/gatherer. I will never be simple or plain or bare-necessity. I like my stuff and I like to see it! See, we're friends already because I am just rattling on. I am friends with your Mother and feel as though I already know Darbee. I'll be checking back to see this transformation. Best wishes, ★ Linda ★
