Getting things back in order

Good evening friends. I hope all of you have had a good day and your new year is off to a great start.  I finally got all of my Christmas decor down and put away and now starts the hard part...getting everything back together.  My house is a wreck.  Is your that way when you take down your holiday decor?  After Christmas each year once everything is put away, I always want to change something.  Rearrange, redo, etc.  This year was no different.  I got busy this morning moving furniture and trying to get things back in order.
I leave up a small tree year round.  I did get it decorated with snowmen.  Now, I just need some of you to send some of your snow down to Georgia!

Keeping my fingers and toes crossed that we will see snow this year.

I also worked a bit in my craft room.  This room is a challenge.  It is an extra room in our house that opens up to the screened in porch.  This room has served as a den/t.v. room, a computer room and now is being transformed into a craft room.  I am struggling with this room  I moved a work table in there today and made a few changes that I will share with you soon.
I also covered up this storage shelf.

Someone gave my dad a big bag of material/vintage dresses the other day.  In it were these vintage curtains.  It's hard to tell from the picture, but they are a grey color with deep red and yellow flowers on them.  I loved them for some reason.  Brought them home and they fit my shelf nearly perfect!
The colors blended in perfect with the room.  Love how my unorganized mess is covered up.  I promise to get it organized soon, but for now I am glad it is covered!  SMILE.

Darbee and I went roaming in T.J. Maxx tonight and look at what we found.

I want one for my new craft room!
Each section was labeled...to do....to file and I can't remember the last one!  Ha....sorry!
They were at least 3 ft. tall.  and only $29!  Wow!  I fell in love with these.

It's been a pretty productive day here though I am nowhere near done.  It will take a while.

I hope you have had a good day and done something to make you smile.

Until next time.....

  2. Holly, you sure did find a great buy , loving that you bought one white and one black.
I am going to start today taking down Christmas but my husband really doesn't want me to but I do keep out all of my snowmen and our theme tree in the kitchen will be all snowmen and I decorate my prim kitchen tree for every holiday Valentine's day, fourth of July, summer time prim flower's. We really enjoy it.
It is 5 degrees here, with the wind chill -12 degrees ,so my blessing is the firewood we have for our fire and for the warmth in our home.
I love what Granny Trace is doing on her blog. It really lifts you up.

Have fun organzing your craft room with your new shelves!!! I hope you do a post on it when you are done!
    Hugs and Blessings,
    Tricia

  3. Hi Holly. Things are getting packed up and taken down here tomorrow. I always struggle with my decor after Christmas. It seems everything needs rearanging and I can never remember how it all was before. Good luck with the craft room. -Steph-

  4. Hi Holley..I will send snow if you take down my Christmas stuff...it was so much easier putting it up. Good luck with your craft room. Mine looked like a tornado hit, so with the help of hubby we took everything out and put it in the living room. Then it took me 2 days to organize it all into different bins and label everything. Most went into the attic...purged 4 huge garbage bags. Love your snowman tree. Janice

  6. Hi Holly, oh my wandering through TJMaxx is dangerous isn't it? LOL love the shelves. I am slowly taking down my Christmas things. I have a tree up all year too and it has my snowmen on. I also leave out all of my other snowmen. I just love snowmen.
    Have a great Friday!
    Be blessed,

  7. First I have to say I love your new layout. :)

Our Christmas tree is still up...lol. So I'm envious of everyone getting everything back in to shape so quickly! In my defense, we just got back from the holidays. ;) Your blog has definitely helped give me the push to get stuff done. Good luck with your craft room!
