Where did the time go?

Good evening dear friends.  Please bear with me as I am a little sappy this evening.  Yes...it has hit me..
My baby starts Pre-K tomorrow and this mama is a little sad.  She is beyond excited and I can't let her have a hint of my sadness, so I thought I would turn to you.  You all understand right?  I know that most of you have been in my shoes.  It seems like yesterday she was like this...

all ready for us to bring her home....

or on the go like this....

or that she should still be like this...

Hehe...

But instead, she's "all grown up."  Her new outfit is laid out. Her stuff is ready.
It's real.
I know she will do great.  I've worked hard to prepare her for this day.  She will be fine.
It's just hard to let go...
A little piece of her will now be shared with others tomorrow.  A new life for her will begin.

I found this poem and had to share.

Good luck baby girl...
Mommy loves you!

  1. Hi Holly,
I so understand...I cried on the first day of school with each of my girls, but I waited until they had gone and I was alone in the house. I paced and worried, but they were just fine and loved their first day school.
    Sending hugs your way.

  2. Why did you do this???? It is just like letting go of you all over again. I am so thankful my baby is growing up but my heart breaks for all that she has to face. But this will mold her into the young lady she will become. I see that in you, but Nana's heart is full tonight. And all those hugs and good loving when I told her bye tonight didn't help. Love you both with all my heart.

  3. Oh Holly, I am sending you hugs right now. I was closing my computer down and saw where you had posted. Yes, it is the first step of letting go, but she will always hold tight to you, just as you do your Mom. This is a big step on a continuing journey, smiles and tears, ups and downs, but through it all you have a wonderful family and you have taught her well. She loves people and enjoys doing things. she will be fine and so will you. (But if it makes you feel better, cry) Hugs
