Enjoying the spring weather...

Hello dear friends.  It's been a while since I've posted. The weather has been BEAUTIFUL here in GA and so unusually warm.  We have been in the mid 80's the last few days.  It seems really weird to be wearing capris and sandals in early March!  Wow.  I'm not complaining although I do wish the pollen would hurry away.  It's driving all of us nuts.  Everything is yellow and our allergies are going crazy!!  It's been fun to be able to go outside and play with Darbee.
I've been busy trying to organize my house and spruce it up a bit.  I've added a few spring decorations.

My dining room table is all ready for spring.  I found this little stool at a local prim shop that I just love.  I was so excited to find it as you know, there are hardly NO prims in our area.  Notice the little mama rabbit pushing the baby in the cart and the little rabbit on the stool?  Those were mine when I was a little girl.  Mama kept them all these years and gave them to me several years ago.  I don't let Darbee play with these and have explained how "old" they are.  Ha!

I found these little burlap bags at a neat shop in Alabama and decided to run a ribbon thru it and hang it on my hoosier cabinet.  A nice spring touch.

I just love this cabinet.  It came out of my great grandmother's house just before they tore it down.  I am so thankful to have it.  I did nothing to it but clean it up.  I love the chippy paint!  Prim perfect.

The top of my computer cabinet has another few "old" pieces.  The book and the mama duck were mine too!

This is a work in progress.  I found this aluminum feeder at the same local prim shop.  This was one of those pieces that got a weird look from hubby.  He thought I was crazy for buying a bent up feeder.  I knew what I wanted to do with it.  Darbee Rae and I headed out to the woods behind our house and found the perfect branches to go in it and made a prim perfect Easter tree.  This is Darbee Rae's tree.  She has picked out a few decorations for it, but it's not done yet.  Will share again when it's done.  :)

I have to say thanks to my daddy for this one.  He made me this calendar board.  I am in love with it!  It is perfect hanging above my desk in the living room.

This mirror hange above my couch in the living room.
I made these wooden blocks last year.

This is one of my favorites.  I found this during our girls trip to The Hen when we met Ms. Betty.
I knew I had the perfect spot for it!

This halltree is a family heirloom as well.
I also got this little tree in the crock at The Hen on another visit.  I just love it and leave it out all the time.  Darbee Rae helped me decorate it with small carrots and easter eggs.

This is my enamel top table in my kitchen. My daddy made the table riser for me. He is so good to share his work with me.

This little cabinet is in my kitchen also.  My mama made the stitchery.
See the bowl of PEZ dispensers?  Yup...those were mine as a child also.
Darbee Rae is building her a nice collection too! :)

I can't post pictures of my decorations without showing you some of Darbee's decorations.  She wanted to add a few decorations to her room too!  She discovered my doilies in a drawer and loved them.  She had to put her decorations on doilies.  :)  She is so proud of them.

I love how excited she gets about our decorations.
The other night at dance, they had a new easter decoration hanging on the door to her dance studio.  It was a straw hat bunny.  Darbee had a fit over it and wanted one for our house.  We went to Michael's and guess what they were selling them there!  They were 20.00.  Did we get one?  NO.  I knew we could make one for MUCH less.  So....we bought the stuff using our 40% off coupon.  Total cost:  $9.00!  Woohoo..

So...last night was a craft night.
Here is our product.

What ya think?  I think it is so cute!
"Flopsy" is hanging on our back door!

Hehe...silly girl!

We've had such a good weekend.
Today after church and lunch with Nana and Papa, we headed up to the lakes.  Hubby works for our city water department.  They have acres and acres of land and lakes behind their plant that the employees can ride around and use.  There's picnic areas, many many lakes, and rocky banks where Darbee Rae loves to throw rocks.  It is soooo nice.  We headed up there for the afternoon.  Oh and did I mention it's less than a mile from our house?  Lucky us!

Love it.

So peaceful.

Darbee had fun riding and hanging out of the sunroof!  Ha!

It was a very fun afternoon. It's been a great weekend.  I hate for it to end.
I hope all of you have had a great weekend too!

Until next time...
