Dentist, Deals and a Story....

Good evening everyone!   We've had a busy several days so I feel like I'm playing catch up.  We were up early yesterday morning for a dentist appointment for Darbee Rae.  It was just a random cleaning, but we knew a filling had fallen out and wanted to get it seen about. She was VERY nervous, but was okay knowing she wasn't going to be drilled on.  Sure enough, the filling was gone.  Ugh...that means we must go back for a little drilling soon.  Oh-well.  She was a good sport.  She had her teeth cleaned and even got x-rays.  Her dentist is so good.  It's a pediatric dentist, so they cater to the little ones.  She gets to pick her color of the toothbrush, choose from several flavors of toothpaste and she even got two coins to put in the prize machine!!  Yahoo!
She took Cuddles along with her.
Don't you love her cool sunglasses?  She gets to watch a movie on the ceiling while they are cleaning her teeth! I want to go to her dentist!

All done! She did so good!
I was so proud of her.  She's much braver than her mommy.  I'm a chicken when it comes to a dentist!

I had promised her a prize when we left there.  We were going to the dollar store to get two prizes, but stopped by Goodwill first.  I have to share my awesome find with you.
We passed by a cart full of stuff waiting to be put out.  I gazed down in the bin and saw a green zippered case.  I pulled it out and saw LEAPSTER on the outside.  I was hoping it worked.  Guess what?  It did.  And guess what else?
It had EIGHT games with it!   How much you ask?  $9.99!
What a score!

Darbee Rae has been playing with it NON STOP.
Needless to say, we didn't need to go to the dollar store.  She found her prize right there!

Can you believe Easter is right around the corner?  I found a set of Resurrection Eggs at a consignment sale and knew we were going to enjoy them this year.

This morning, we opened our first egg. Darbee was so excited to see what they were all about.

I thought I would share each day with you all as we prepare for the Easter holiday.
It's a nice reminder of what our Savior did for us and what the holiday is all about.

Day One:  The blue egg.

What was inside?

A donkey.
We talked about when she had heard of a donkey in the bible.  She related a donkey to Mary and Joseph.  This morning, we learned a new lesson about a donkey.

"A lowly donkey was given to Jesus to ride into Jerusalem just before his death and resurrection."

Bible Verses:  Matthew 21:1-9.

We talked about Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey and how everyone wanted to see Jesus.  We also talked about how we were supposed to follow Jesus even when our friends say we shouldn't or might even laugh at us.

She is so excited to learn about Jesus and it warms my heart so much.  Her little mind is so absorbent.
I am so thankful to share this time with her and look forward to the next 11 days.

We even made a special spot on her little table to display it.  We have a grass square to display the eggs we pull out each day.  They carton is there along with her small story book.  What's missing?  Yup...a cross.  Darbee Rae informed me that we needed a small cross to go with it.  So...what do we do?  Call Papa!  Luckily we were spending the afternoon over there, so guess what?  We have a small cross made and painted.  Just waiting on it to dry.  :)  Papa is so helpful!

We had dance class tonight.  Whew...I'm a tired mama...
Goodnight folks.
Until next time.....

  5. I wish my dentist showed movies on the ceiling...all I see is a light that looks like a cloud. A movie would be so much more fun!!

Love the Resurrection Eggs...I don't think I've ever seen them before. I'm sure it is something that my daugther would love to do with our grandson when he gets just a bit older.

  9. What a trooper, I want to go to her dentist too!! I can't believe you found a Leapster game set and that many games for $10, what an incredible deal! That will definitely keep her busy for quite some time, lol.

We do those Resurrection eggs also. One evening I forgot and my little guy brought them to me, it blessed my heart! He will sit there very quietly with egg in hand and not open it until the verse is read. But the most fun for him is trying to guess what's inside. I can't wait till tomorrow when the egg is empty, he is going to be so surprised, haha! Wishing you and your family a joyous Easter~
