St. Patty's Day!

Good evening friends.  What a fun day it has been!  Happy St. Patrick's Day!
St. Patrick's Day is usually not a big holiday at our house.  When I was little, Mama would always do something for me and usually add some fun to supper.  I most remember a supper one year of green mashed potatoes and green cornbread. My mom always made any holiday a lot of fun.

I have tried to do the same with Darbee Rae.  I LOVE making a big deal of everything and all of the holidays.  We have never done too much with St. Patrick's Day.  Darbee questioned me the other day about leprechauns.  She wanted to know if they were really real.  Luckily, before I had to answer her, she forgot she asked and moved on to something else.  Whew!  That was close!

Last night, I suggested she make a leprechaun trap.  She laughed and quickly told me no.  She informed me leprechauns didn't live in our area or come near us.  Luckily, I had something up my sleeve to prove her wrong.  (*wink*)

When she woke up this morning, she found a little surprise.

A leprechaun had visited our house and left some of his favorite green things.
He left a note for her too!
She was thrilled!
He even dropped a few pieces of gold on the way out the door.

I made her a shirt to match some ruffled pants she already had.

Can you tell I am enjoying my machine?  I love it.  Applique is my favorite.
We made goody bags for her to take in to her class today.

I loved these little pots.

I love adding fun touches to Darbee's lunch box from time to time.
I decided to add some fun for today.  I made this label to go around her green Hawaiian Punch.

I added a cute napkin and a little note with a special snack.

I would feel special opening this at lunch. (smile) I hope she did.

School was a fun day too.
While their class was at recess, leprechauns came to visit her room.  They made a huge mess!  Yikes.
There was a messy trail of shamrocks in the hallway leading to the classroom.

When they found that, they went crazy!  You could hear them in the hallway so excited. I love it.

There was green tinsel and confetti everywhere in the hallway on their book bags.

And just look at their classroom!

They had lime sherbet to drink and yummy snacks.

The leprechauns even left gold in their cubbies!

I know one little girl that had a ton of fun!

What a fun day we all had.
And...I am pretty sure some little girl believes in leprechauns! (smile)

I hope all of you have had a fun day.

Until next time....
