A Peek Into Our Weekend...

Good evening friends.  It's chilly here again.  Ugh!  When will spring come and decide to stay?  She made a quick appearance this weekend but her stay was only for a day.  She quickly ran away again.

We have had a rather quiet weekend.  We didn't do much but rather enjoyed our time.  Saturday, we spent the morning at home and then ventured out to do a little thrifting.

We heard the icee place was open for the first time this season and we had to stop by and have our first one!  These things are sooo good.  The name of the little trailer that sells them is The Frigid Frog.  They have two trailers that travel all over our area setting up and selling icees. They are delicious.  Darbee loves the Sonic the Hedgehog one with a squirt of sour.  She was a happy girl!

We went to a few thrift shops and then tried out a new restaurant in a nearby town.  It is called Truett's Luau.  Truett Cathy is the man who started Chick-fil-A.  His family has opened up a new restaurant in a nearby town that takes on a neat Hawaiian theme.  They serve some of the regular Chick-fil-a food but also have some fish and shrimp dishes.  It was fun.  Something new.

We found nothing good on our adventures so we headed home early to take advantage of one of the warmest evenings we have had so far.  Mama and daddy gave me a new fire pit for Christmas and I have been dying to try it out!  I love it.

They came over and Kakee and Pete did too.  Darbee loved having everyone here.  They all brought snacks and we just enjoyed family time and being together.
Nothing better..right?

We roasted marshmallows....

And enjoyed smores!

We did add a touch of spring to the playhouse.

Today after church, Darbee and I enjoyed finishing off they day at the nail salon.  She enjoyed the evening playing with blocks and being creative.  Look at her helicopter she made!

It's been a good weekend.
We are counting down the days till spring break.  Are you?  We only have two more weeks of school until then.  I can't wait.

I hope all of you have had a great weekend.

Until next time....

St. Patty's Day!

Good evening friends.  What a fun day it has been!  Happy St. Patrick's Day!
St. Patrick's Day is usually not a big holiday at our house.  When I was little, Mama would always do something for me and usually add some fun to supper.  I most remember a supper one year of green mashed potatoes and green cornbread. My mom always made any holiday a lot of fun.

I have tried to do the same with Darbee Rae.  I LOVE making a big deal of everything and all of the holidays.  We have never done too much with St. Patrick's Day.  Darbee questioned me the other day about leprechauns.  She wanted to know if they were really real.  Luckily, before I had to answer her, she forgot she asked and moved on to something else.  Whew!  That was close!

Last night, I suggested she make a leprechaun trap.  She laughed and quickly told me no.  She informed me leprechauns didn't live in our area or come near us.  Luckily, I had something up my sleeve to prove her wrong.  (*wink*)

When she woke up this morning, she found a little surprise.

A leprechaun had visited our house and left some of his favorite green things.
He left a note for her too!
She was thrilled!
He even dropped a few pieces of gold on the way out the door.

I made her a shirt to match some ruffled pants she already had.

Can you tell I am enjoying my machine?  I love it.  Applique is my favorite.
We made goody bags for her to take in to her class today.

I loved these little pots.

I love adding fun touches to Darbee's lunch box from time to time.
I decided to add some fun for today.  I made this label to go around her green Hawaiian Punch.

I added a cute napkin and a little note with a special snack.

I would feel special opening this at lunch. (smile) I hope she did.

School was a fun day too.
While their class was at recess, leprechauns came to visit her room.  They made a huge mess!  Yikes.
There was a messy trail of shamrocks in the hallway leading to the classroom.

When they found that, they went crazy!  You could hear them in the hallway so excited. I love it.

There was green tinsel and confetti everywhere in the hallway on their book bags.

And just look at their classroom!

They had lime sherbet to drink and yummy snacks.

The leprechauns even left gold in their cubbies!

I know one little girl that had a ton of fun!

What a fun day we all had.
And...I am pretty sure some little girl believes in leprechauns! (smile)

I hope all of you have had a fun day.

Until next time....

The last few days

Good evening!
I still haven't been able to get my pictures off of my memory card but i have a few new ones on my new phone.
This week has been a fun one at school for Darbee. From the first day of school, we always look forward to the 100th day. Its so fun and we always celebrate big.
Last year, her class had to dress as if they were 100 years old. This year, they had to do a project. She had to use 100 items to make something on a poster. I quickly turned to pinterest for ideas. We decided to do a hot air balloon made out of 100 balloons. I love how it turned out. We had so much fun doing it together.

She had a cute shirt I had ordered to wear and boy was she excited.
She couldn't wait to get to school. They had plans to party all day.
We made goody bags for her to give out.
They had a Starburst, a pack of smarties and a glow stick. The tag on them said "You are 100 days brighter."

I got to drop in on her party and see their activities.
They made a book with lots of 100 work pages. There was also some cute question pages. One asked, "what will you do when you are 100?" What was my child's answer? "I will moan and groan." Haha. So cute.

They had a yummy lunch and played in centers.

She had a great day. Now we are counting down to the end of the year. Not too much longer!

I have been playing with my embroidery machine a good bit more and I love it. I still have a lot to learn but I am getting there.
Here's my latest projects.

I have heard about glitter iron on vinyl that you can cut with your Cricut machine. I have been dying to try it. I found some at Michael's the other day. It's silver. I tried it today and I am in love.
I made a shirt for Darbee.
The picture doesn't do it justice. It is so much cuter in person.

Our internet was fixed yesterday so hopefully I will be able to keep up now. I hope all of you are doing well.
Until next time.....

I'm still here

Good evening friends. I am taking a moment to drop in and let you all know I am still here. I have had what I thought was computer problems. It turned out to be our internet and we have been without service for several days. After the cable guy replaced most everything that had to do with cable or internet inside and under our house, we are finally up and running again. I also got a new phone. I have my memory card but for some reason, my card adapter will no longer read it. All of my blog pictures are on it. So....I promise to do a real post soon and load some pictures. I hope all of you are doing well.  Talk to you all again soon.
